The Herons is in Keiss, up in the Highlands. It's a detached house looking right over Sinclair's Bay. The beach is sandy and about three miles long, just across the road. You can see the Noss Head lighthouse from the front windows.
It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. There's a woodburning stove for chilly nights, and a games room with a pool table. The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs or kids. We allow up to three pets.
You get the basics: dishwasher, washing machine, towels and bedding are included. There's parking right there.
You often see things from the shore here. Seals, porpoises, dolphins sometimes. Even the occasional orca, though that's rarer. The local pub is about half a mile away.
Wick is the main town if you need shops. It's about seven miles. The Castle of Mey is worth a visit, and you can get a ferry to Orkney from Scrabster, which is under an hour's drive. There's good golf at Wick and Lybster.
