The Herons

The Herons is in Keiss, on the north-east coast. It's a detached house, so no one's attached to you. The front looks out over the beach, which is three miles of sand. You can see Noss Head Lighthouse from the windows.

It sleeps seven, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's spacious and the furniture is decent, nothing fancy but it's all there.

The stairs have a stairgate at the top if you need it. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. You can bring up to three pets.

There's a local pub half a mile away. The beach is right there, just over the road. You often see dolphins or porpoises from the shore. Sometimes even whales. The house has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.

For facilities, it's got the main things: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. There's also a games room with a pool table.

Wick is about seven miles south. That's where you'll find the bigger supermarkets and shops. The Castle of Mey is a short drive north. If you fancy a day trip, you can get the ferry to Orkney from Scrabster or Gills Bay, both are within an hour's drive.
