Tenbury Wells is about two and a half miles away. It's a small town with a few pubs that do food, some restaurants, a cinema, and proper local shops like a greengrocer. It's nice by the river.
For a day out, Ludlow is about a 20 minute drive. Good for food and the castle. Hereford and Worcester are both within half an hour if you want a cathedral or bigger shops. The Wyre Forest and the Severn Valley Railway are close by for walks or a steam train trip.
