Old Shires Barn is near Loyterton in Kent. It's a detached barn conversion. It sleeps eight people in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished.
The main thing is the layout is a bit unusual because of how the barn was built. There are three separate sleeping areas, each with its own staircase. Two are upstairs from the living area. One of those is a family suite with a double bed on a mezzanine and two single pods below. The stairs to the mezzanine are open-tread. The third bedroom is on the ground floor.
The kitchen has bifold doors that open out to a covered gazebo and the garden. There's a wood burner in the living room. Outside there's a firepit, a barbecue, and a table tennis table.
The place is in the countryside, surrounded by farmland and orchards. It's quiet. There are walks from the door that go to local pubs. The George is about a 20 minute walk, The Carpenters is about 40 minutes on foot or five minutes by car. Both do good food.
Faversham town is 15 minutes by car. Whitstable and Canterbury are within a 30 minute drive. The coast is about 12 miles.
Facilities: everything's included like bedding, towels, WiFi. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, highchair and cot. Parking on site. You can bring two dogs.
The owner is okay with extra visitors during the day if you're having a gathering, but only eight can stay overnight. You can also book it together with the place next door, Will Arch Lodge, if you need space for twelve.
