Pleacairn Cottage

This is Pleacairn Cottage. It's outside Dalton village, on a little farm. It used to be a dairy. It's detached, so no one's attached to the walls, and it looks right out over fields.

It's a 4 Star place, which is good. It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. That's it, so it's quiet. You can bring two dogs.

The main thing is the views are very good. It’s also all on the ground floor, so no stairs to worry about.

There's a wood burning stove for if it gets chilly. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. You get your own little patio bit with a table. Sheets and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

There's a pub that does food about half a mile down the lane. The nearest shop is five miles off in Lockerbie. The beach at Powfoot is about a twenty minute drive.

It's right in the middle of the 7Stanes mountain biking trails if that's your thing. There's bike storage here. For golf, Hoddom Castle course is just up the road. You can fish on the River Annan.

If you want to go further, Dumfries is about twenty minutes south. For a day out, you can get to Glasgow or Carlisle in under an hour. The North Lakes, like Keswick, are about an hour away too.

Everything is on CCTV for security, but there aren't any cameras pointing at the cottage itself, so your privacy is fine.
