Iona Cottage Ruthwell

Iona Cottage is near Ruthwell, between Dumfries and Annan. It's a single-storey semi-detached place, so it's all on the ground floor. That makes it straightforward. It's had a good redo and the 4 Star rating reflects that.

It's for two people, which is nice. Just the one bedroom and one bathroom. You can bring up to two dogs.

The main thing is the view. It looks out over the Solway Firth towards the Lake District. The garden is yours to use. It's on the coast, so you can walk straight out from the property.

There's a local pub near enough. For things to do, Caerlaverock Castle is very close. It's a ruin, a good one, run by Historic Scotland. The WWT wetland centre is right there too if you like that sort of thing.

Dumfries is about a fifteen minute drive one way, Annan is about ten the other. Both have shops and things. The Mabie Forest has mountain bike trails if you're into that. Plenty of walking around the Caerlaverock estate paths. There are golf courses around, including Southerness.

Inside, it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site.
