Repentance View

Right, Repentance View. It's a farmhouse near the village of Kelhead. Detached, so no one's on the other side of the wall. It's on a working farm, but the farm bit isn't for guests. You just get the house and its garden.

It sleeps six, across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is big, and the rooms feel it. The main sitting room has big windows and doors straight out to the garden. The view is the main thing. You look out over fields towards the Solway Firth, and you can see the Lake District hills on a clear day.

The garden is a good size and it's enclosed. There's a barbecue. The stairs are normal.

For facilities, you've got a woodburning stove, wifi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. No pets.

Annan and Lockerbie are a few miles away for basics and a few places to eat. Dumfries is about a twenty minute drive for bigger shops and the Robert Burns stuff.

If you want a day out, you're well placed. The coast is close. Southerness, Rockcliffe, Kippford. They're little seaside spots, good for a walk. There's a gin distillery about three miles along the road, Dalton Gin, if you fancy a tour.

Further afield, within half an hour or so, you've got Caerlaverock Castle. Drumlanrig Castle is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. For gardens, Threave is near Dumfries. The Galloway Forest Park is good for walking and the dark skies. The National Trust for Scotland has local information too.

That's about it.
