Balloan Farm Cottage Balnadelson

Balloan Farm Cottage is a couple of miles outside Lairg, in the Scottish Highlands. It's a detached house on our farm. We renovated it a few years ago and it's warm and dry.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom is downstairs with its own shower room. There's a second bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The layout is a bit different. You come in to the main living room with a wood burner. There's a separate dining room and a kitchen. Then there's a conservatory out the back with another wood burner. Upstairs is a second bedroom with twin beds and a small, cosy snug area with some beanbags.

Outside is a private, enclosed garden and a driveway. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is secure.

You're in proper countryside here. Our Cheviot sheep are in the fields around. They lamb in April and we're happy for visitors to see that, maybe even feed one if it's needed. We've also got some friendly goats. We sometimes have fresh eggs available.

Lairg is a short drive away for shops and things. The area is good for walking, fishing, and wildlife. You might see seals or otters along the coast. For a big day out, the beaches up the north coast are spectacular. Sandwood Bay is famous but it's a proper walk to get there.

You're well placed for the North Coast 500 route if that's your plan. Golflinks like Royal Dornoch are within driving distance.

Facilities: it has WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking, and both wood burners. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance and the ground floor bedroom and bathroom are wheelchair accessible.
