Reid's Cottage Lairg

This is Reid's Cottage, a Highland croft house next to my other place, Phil's House. It's detached, so it's just you. It's up on a bit of a slope, so the main thing is the view. You look right out over Lairg village, Loch Shin, and the hills. It's good for just sitting and watching the sky change.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well kept and comfortable. Everything's on one level. The garden is enclosed, which is useful if you're bringing dogs. You can bring two.

There's a woodburning stove for the cooler evenings. Underfloor heating too. It's got wifi and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a cot, and parking right outside.

Lairg is a small village. The shops and a couple of pubs are about a five minute walk away. They're friendly. You're right on the edge of the proper Highlands here.

If you want to get out, you can walk straight into the forest from the back. There are mountain bike trails. Loch Shin is there for fishing or kayaking. Golspie and Tain golf courses are about a 40 minute drive. For a big day out, the east coast around Dornoch and the north coast around Tongue are within half an hour. Inverness is just over an hour south.
