Reid's Cottage is in Lairg, up in the Highlands. It's a detached croft house, so it's on its own. You're up a bit of a slope, so the view from the front is good. You look right over the village and Loch Shin towards the hills.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and comfortable. Everything's on one floor, which is handy. The garden is enclosed, so it's secure if you've got dogs or kids.
The place is bright inside, and it's cosy when the woodburning stove is on. There's underfloor heating too, so it's warm. We've put in a washing machine, and the bedding and towels are all included. WiFi works fine.
You can park right outside. We can provide a cot if you need one. We take up to two well-behaved dogs.
The village centre with a shop and a couple of pubs is about a five minute walk. They're both decent. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Tain or maybe Bonar Bridge.
If you're outdoorsy, you're in the right spot. There are forest trails for walking or mountain biking right from the door. Fishing on Loch Shin is famous. You can hire kayaks locally too. There's a golf course just outside the village.
For a day out, it's about half an hour to the east coast at Dornoch or Golspie. You can be at the north coast, near Tongue, in a similar time. Inverness is just over an hour's drive south if you need a city.
