Bruno's Bothy Aikton

This is Bruno's Bothy. It's on our farm in Aikton, which is a few miles north of Wigton. It's a detached single-storey cottage, so all on one level. You get your own garden and it's very quiet here.

It sleeps two people. One bedroom and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done up to a high standard. There's a wood burning stove and a sun room that looks out over the garden. The hot tub is out there too.

The farm is working, so you'll see sheep and tractors about. The cottage is detached, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. It's all your own space.

The pub is just over the yard, about a hundred paces. They do food. The nearest shop is in Wigton, about four miles away.

You're in a good spot here. The Lake District National Park is about a 25 minute drive south. Carlisle is about 20 minutes north, and you can be at bits of Hadrian's Wall in under half an hour. The Scottish border isn't much further. If you want to plan days out, the Lake District National Park and English Heritage pages for Hadrian's Wall are useful.

What's here: the hot tub, the wood burner, a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. We include all the bedding and towels. It's enclosed so you can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
