Bruno's Bothy
Bruno's Bothy is on our working farm just outside Aikton. It's detached. A one bedroom bungalow, so everything's on one level. It sleeps two.
We had it renovated a few years back, so it's got a wood burner in the main room and decent insulation. The rating is 5 Star. There's a sunroom on the back that looks onto the garden. You get the garden to yourselves.
The hot tub is there, too. It's just outside the sunroom.
Because it's all on the ground floor, it's fairly straightforward inside. The bathroom has a shower.
The village pub is about a hundred yards down the lane. They serve food. The nearest shop is four miles away in Wigton.
You're about twenty-five minutes' drive from the northern edge of the Lake District. Keswick, Bassenthwaite, that area. Thirlmere and Ullswater are a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Carlisle is about fifteen minutes north, if you need a city or the train station.
Hadrian's Wall is an easy drive. Birdoswald Fort is a good starting point.
The facilities are all listed, but the main things are the dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and the parking right outside. Towels and bedding are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
