Wester Auchleuchrie is a house near Memus in Angus. It's on the bank of the South Esk river. The house is detached and the garden is enclosed.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place. It's a good spot for a family get-together or a group of friends. Up to two dogs are welcome. Stag or hen parties aren't, and there's no hot tub.
The layout is spread over three floors. Downstairs, there's a big open living area with a kitchen, dining table, and a sitting space with a TV. A double-sided wood burner divides the room. There's also a utility room with a washing machine, a shower room, and a playroom full of toys and an air hockey table.
On the first floor, there are three bedrooms: two doubles and one with twin singles. There's a bathroom and a separate shower room too. Also on this floor is a separate drawing room, which is a quieter space.
The top floor has two more bedrooms, both with king-size beds that can be made up as twins if needed. There's another bathroom up there. We can provide up to three cots and baby equipment.
The garden has different areas. At the front, there's a barbecue and a big table with a parasol, looking right over the river. There's a raised area at the back for the view. For kids, there's a large enclosed play area with swings, a slide, a trampoline, and a sandpit. For older children and adults, there's a football net, badminton, boules, a golf chipping net, and other things like slacklines. It's quite a dark spot, so star gazing is good on a clear night.
The house is about three quarters of a mile from the Drover's Inn, which is a decent pub and restaurant. Kirriemuir, J.M. Barrie's birthplace, is five miles away. There are golf courses in Brechin, Forfar, Carnoustie, and Kirriemuir. Glamis Castle is close by. Dundee, Perth, and Aberdeen are all within an hour's drive for museums and restaurants.
For fishing, you'll need to book a permit in advance. The rights aren't included with the house. Inshewan Estates, Finavon Castle, and Cortachy are the beats to look into.
Facilities: There's parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. The house is wheelchair accessible at the entrance and there's a seat in one of the showers.
