The Courtyard Suite

The Courtyard Suite is part of our house, Pitscandly House, which is a listed building on a working deer farm near Lunanhead. It's the east wing of the house, made into its own place. You get your own front door.

It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. The main living space is open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all together. It's a decent size. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not modern luxury. The walls are thick, it's quiet.

You're welcome to walk around the farm tracks to see the deer and the Highland ponies. There are about five acres of grounds and a walled garden. Those areas are shared with us and with the other holiday let, The Garden Suite, which is in another part of the house. There's a sunken courtyard out the front with some seating.

The nearest shop and pub are about a mile and a half away in Friockheim. For a bigger shop, Forfar is about ten minutes by car.

If you want to get out, Lunan Bay is a good beach, about twenty minutes' drive. Arbroath and Montrose have beaches too. Dundee is twenty minutes away, it's got the V&A museum and the RSS Discovery. Glamis Castle is about fifteen minutes away and is worth a visit.

For walking, Glen Clova is within half an hour. Murton Nature Reserve is just down the road, about two miles. It's good for a short stroll.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, on-site parking, and you can store bikes. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
