Redroofs By The Woods

Redroofs is over in Milldens, on the edge of Montreathmont Forest. It's a bungalow, so everything is on the ground floor. The owners live next door in the main house, but you've got your own place and your own garden. It's very quiet, just fields and trees out the back.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite shower room, and there's a third toilet as well. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's in good order. The main room is big, with high ceilings and a wood burner that does both sides. It can get a bit echoey in there.

You can walk straight into the forest from the garden gate. The history round here is interesting. The forest had an airship station in the first war, and then a secret radio listening post in the second. You can still find bits of the old buildings if you know where to look.

For a day out, Balgavies Loch is good for watching birds. The Angus Glens are about a twenty minute drive for proper hills. If you want a beach, Montrose or St Cyrus are the nearest, about half an hour away.

The local towns are Forfar and Kirriemuir. They've got the usual shops and a few places to eat. Carnoustie is famous for golf. Dundee, Perth, and Aberdeen are all under an hour if you need a city.

In terms of what's there: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden has a patio and a BBQ. Parking is right outside. No pets.
