This is Kilbride Beach Cottage, on the west coast of the island. It's detached, right by the water. You get this amazing view of the sand and the sea. It's a proper Hebridean view, all the colours.
The cottage sleeps four. There are three bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's been renovated, so it's comfortable, but it's an old croft house from 1909 so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. It's on a working croft, so there are sheep and chickens about. You can walk down to the beach in a few minutes.
You've got a pub and a cafe about half a mile away. The shop is three miles. The facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, woodburner. There's a garden with a barbecue.
The islands are good for walking. You can drive across the causeways to explore. Barra is a ferry ride away for a day trip. If you're into golf, the Askernish course, the old Tom Morris one, is about half an hour's drive.
The wildlife is the main thing here. From April you can hear the corncrake in the fields. You see eagles, seals, that sort of thing. The machair behind the beach is full of wildflowers in the summer.
