Kilbride Beach Cottage is in West Kilbride, on one of the southern isles in the Outer Hebrides. It's a detached cottage, built in 1909 but it's been extended and renovated since. It sits on a working croft, so there are sheep and hens around. The beach is a few minutes' walk away.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.
The cottage is on the Machair. In spring and summer, the fields around here are covered in wildflowers. You hear corncrakes from April. You might see eagles, otters, or seals.
There's a cafe about a quarter of a mile away. A pub and restaurant are half a mile. The nearest shop is three miles away in Daliburgh.
The islands here are linked by causeways, so driving between them is straightforward. You can get a ferry over to Barra for the day. Askernish Golf Course, which Tom Morris had a hand in designing, is a short drive away. There's a lot of local history, like Bonnie Prince Charlie spots and the wreck the film 'Whisky Galore' was based on.
For wider planning, the Outer Hebrides tourism site is useful. The National Trust for Scotland looks after a few sites nearby too.
In terms of what's here: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a BBQ. Parking is on site. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
