Bute Cottage is a bungalow. It's detached and looks out over a small lochan. You get the house and the garden to yourselves. It's quiet.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's tidy and functional, not luxurious. Everything's on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
There's a shop and a pub about a quarter of a mile away. The beach is a couple of miles. That's where the white sand is, on the west side. The machair is covered in wildflowers in summer. You'll see a lot of birds.
For getting out, Askernish Golf Course is nearby. It's the oldest in the Western Isles. The RSPB Balranald nature reserve is on North Uist if you've got binoculars. You can sometimes see whales or sharks from the coast in summer.
If you want to explore further, you can drive to Eriskay and get the ferry over to Barra. Lochmaddy has an outdoor centre for boat trips or kayaking. There's archaeology all over the islands if that's your thing.
Facilities wise: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there. You can bring one dog.
