Sealladh Lingeigh East Kilbride

Right, Sealladh Lingeigh. It's a house out near East Kilbride, on South Uist. The road sort of ends here. It's detached, modern enough, and very big inside. The main thing is the view. The sitting room windows look right out over the water. You can see Barra and Eriskay. You'll just sit and watch the light change.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, warm, and everything works. It's not a fancy interior design place, it's a practical house for a group.

You're right on the coast. The beach is basically at the bottom of the garden. It's that white sand you get here. The machair is all around, covered in flowers in summer. You'll hear corncrakes. We see eagles. In the summer, you can spot whales or basking sharks from the shore if you're lucky.

The house is peaceful. There's not much around it. The nearest shop and the pub, the Politician Inn, are about two miles back down the road. The pub does food. That's the one from the 'Whisky Galore' story.

For getting out, you're well placed. Eriskay is just over the causeway. The beaches there are amazing, turquoise water. The ponies wander about. You can get the ferry from there over to Barra for the day. From Lochboisdale, which isn't far, you can get boat trips out to St Kilda and the other small islands if you're feeling adventurous.

Facilities wise: it's got parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. The garden is fully enclosed. You can bring two dogs.
