This is Golygfar Mynydd. It's on our sheep farm near Pontrhydfendigaid, in Ceredigion. The name just means Mountain View, which is what you get. The views are over the fields and hills towards the Cambrian Mountains. It's very quiet.
It's one of two barns we converted, semi-detached with the other one. It sleeps six, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one has a roll-top bath. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well finished. There's slate flooring, beams, and a wood burner. The kitchen is oak. We've tried to make it comfortable.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep. There are red kites about. At night, with no light pollution, you can see a lot of stars.
The closest village is Pontrhydfendigaid, about three miles away. It has a shop and a couple of pubs that do food. Tregaron is a bit further and has more. Right on the doorstep, about a mile away, is Strata Florida Abbey. They're ruins, but interesting ones. Strata Florida Abbey. You can walk to the Teifi Pools from here too, which are remote lakes up on the moor.
For a day out, the Elan Valley reservoirs are about 30 minutes' drive. The coast at Aberaeron or New Quay is roughly the same. Aberystwyth is a bit further. All good for a change of scene.
What's here: a garden and patio with a BBQ, on-site parking, bike storage, WiFi, TV, dishwasher and washing machine. It's all on one level with no steps at the entrance, so it's accessible. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
