Golygfa'r Mynydd means Mountain View. It's a converted barn on a working sheep farm near Pontrhydfendigaid.
The main thing here is the quiet. It's very quiet, and the views over the hills are good. You'll see red kites. At night, you can see a lot of stars.
It's a 5 Star place, sleeps six in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. There's a wood burner, slate floors, beams, that sort of thing. It's been done to a high standard.
This is a farm, so you'll see sheep. The property is semi-detached with another holiday cottage, but you have your own garden.
The village is about three miles away. It has a shop and a couple of pubs that do food.
There's a lot of walking from the door. The Cors Caron nature reserve is close by. It's a big bog with boardwalks. Natural Resources Wales has information on Cors Caron. Strata Florida Abbey is about a mile away. It's a ruin, a nice place for a wander.
Tregaron is a short drive. It's a proper small town with cafes, a good pub, and shops. They have walking festivals and that sort of thing.
Within half an hour you can get to the coast. Aberaeron and New Quay are about a 30 minute drive. Good for dolphin spotting. The Cambrian Mountains are all around here for more serious walking or mountain biking.
Facilities: everything you'd expect. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. Sorry, no pets.
