Awel Y Mynydd - Mountain Breeze Pontrhydfendigaid

Awel Y Mynydd is on our sheep farm near Pontrhydfendigaid. It's a semi-detached barn conversion. We did the one next door as well, so you might see another family arriving. The views are the main thing, really. You look out over the fields towards the Cambrian Mountains.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got the 5 Star rating, which is a modern standard. It means things like the kitchen is new and the bathroom is nice. It's been done up to a high standard.

It's very quiet here. You're miles from a main road. The main noise is sheep and birds, especially the red kites. At night, with no streetlights, you can see a lot of stars.

Inside, it’s open plan downstairs. There's slate flooring, some exposed stonework, and a wood-burning stove. The stairs are wooden and a bit steep, as you'd expect. Upstairs, the bathroom has a roll-top bath.

You're on a working farm, so you'll see us with the sheep sometimes. We're just next door if you need anything.

The village of Pontrhydfendigaid is about three miles away. It has a pub that does food and a small shop. Tregaron is a bit further and has more, including a good pub. Strata Florida Abbey is a mile or so up the road, if you're interested in the history.

For walking, you're right in the middle of it. Cors Caron, the big nature reserve, is on your doorstep. You can drive to the Cambrian Mountains or the coast in under half an hour. Aberystwyth and the beaches are about 40 minutes by car.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry, because of the farm.
