The Bothy is my place at the fruit farm in Upton. It's a single-storey cottage attached to the main farmhouse, so everything's on one level. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
It's a 5 Star place, which just means it's well-equipped and in good condition. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and clean.
The main thing is the location. You're in the middle of a 16-acre orchard, so it's very quiet. You'll see deer, red kites, and woodpeckers out the windows. The views are across the fields to the Berkshire Downs and the Chilterns.
There's a patio and garden for sitting out. The parking is right outside.
The facilities are what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included.
The local pub is about a ten minute walk away, five hundred yards. A shop is a mile away in the village.
You're well placed for walking. The Ridgeway path is less than three miles to the south. It's easy to get to Oxford, about a half hour drive. Didcot Parkway station is close by for trains into London.
For days out, Visit Oxfordshire has good information. The National Trust has a few properties nearby, like Uffington Castle, which is about twenty minutes away.
No pets, I'm afraid.
