The Bothy Upton

The Bothy is in Upton, Oxfordshire. It's attached to the main farmhouse here, but it's completely separate for guests. It's a single-storey place, so everything is on the ground floor. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It was a farm worker's cottage originally, but it's been done up. The space is good. You get the whole place to yourselves.

The setting is the main thing. It's in what used to be a big orchard, about sixteen acres. We're turning it back into parkland, so it's a bit of a project. The views are long, over towards the Berkshire Downs and the Chiltern Hills. It's very quiet.

You're about 500 yards from the village pub. It's a proper local, does food. The shop is a mile away in the next village. For walking, you're right between two good paths. The Ridgeway is one, and the Thames Path is the other. Both are close.

In terms of getting further out, you're well placed. The M4 and M40 are easy to get to. Didcot Parkway station is about a fifteen minute drive. Trains to London Paddington take around 45 minutes. Oxford is about half an hour by car.

Inside, it has what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. There's parking right outside. The patio and garden area is yours to use. Bedding and towels are included.
