1 The Pheasants
1 The Pheasants is one of a group of converted barns on Ilsley Farm. The farm is arable, so you'll see tractors and fields, not animals. It's in East Ilsley, which is a village on the edge of the Berkshire Downs.
The barn sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been finished to a high standard. Everything is new, clean, and works well. The main space is open plan, with a kitchen at one end. The ceilings are high with exposed beams.
Outside, there's a private south-facing patio with a table and a BBQ. You can see the fields from there.
The village has a shop and a couple of pubs you can walk to. For a bigger town, Newbury is about a 15 minute drive. It has supermarkets, a cinema, and the racecourse.
There's a lot to do nearby if you like walking or history. The Ridgeway path runs right through the area. Ashdown House and Donnington Castle are both close. Highclere Castle, which you might know from TV, is about a 25 minute drive. Windsor is under an hour.
In terms of facilities, it has everything on the list: parking, washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
