The Downs

The Downs is one of six barns on Ilsley Farm. It's a converted farm building on a working arable farm near East Ilsley. It's detached, so you won't share walls with any other holiday lets.

It sleeps twelve people. There are six bedrooms and five bathrooms. All the bedrooms are en-suite. The main living space is open plan, so the kitchen, dining, and sitting area are all together. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard. The ceilings are high with exposed beams.

Outside, there's a south-facing patio with a garden area. There's a barbecue. Parking is on-site.

Inside, you've got a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.

East Ilsley is a small village on the Berkshire Downs. There's a local pub. The Ridgeway path runs nearby, which is good for walks. You can see the farm working sometimes, which means tractors on the tracks.

Newbury is about a fifteen-minute drive. That's where you'll find the main supermarkets, the cinema, and the racecourse. Highclere Castle, which is where they film Downton Abbey, is about twenty minutes away. Donnington Castle is an English Heritage site nearby.

For a bigger day out, Windsor is around forty minutes by car. The National Trust has several properties in the area, like Ashdown House.
