This is Southfield. It's a detached bungalow in Steventon village, just off the main road into it. We had it built as a holiday let in 2020, so everything is new and works properly. It's all on one level.
It sleeps five across three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Doors are wide and there's no step at the front, so it's suitable if you have mobility issues or use a wheelchair.
The living room has a gas fire that looks like a wood burner. The kitchen is open plan with the dining area. You get a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. It looks out over the fields.
The village shop and a couple of pubs are about a five minute walk. There's a bakery and a restaurant too. If it's summer, you might see a cricket match on the green.
Abingdon is about five miles away. It's an old town on the Thames. Didcot is the same distance the other way; the Railway Centre there is good for a visit if you like steam trains. Oxford is about a twenty minute drive. You can see the colleges, go punting, or go shopping. We're near the Chilterns and the North Wessex Downs if you want walking. The Ridgeway path is close by.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive. The WiFi usually works fine.
For planning days out, these sites are useful: Oxford City Council for visitor info, and National Trust Oxfordshire for places like the White Horse Hill.
