Rainbow Cottage

Rainbow Cottage is in Biggar on Walney Island. It's a terraced cottage, two storeys. You get the whole place.

It's a three star place, which means it's clean and has what you need, but it's not high-end. Sleeps three. There's a double bedroom and a single bedroom, and one bathroom upstairs. The bathroom has a roll-top bath, which is nice.

Downstairs is one room really, a living and dining space with the kitchen at the back. The kitchen is small, but it's got the basics. There's a wood burning stove in the living area, which is good for cooler evenings.

The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's parking right outside the cottage.

The location is quiet. You can walk to the beach from here. The Walney Nature Reserve is nearby for walks and birdwatching. Barrow-in-Furness is over the bridge for shops, a supermarket, and a few places to eat. The Furness Abbey is worth a look.

The main thing is you're about half an hour's drive from the Lake District. That gets you to places like Coniston or the south end of Windermere. It's a good base if you want a mix of coast and lakes.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, towels and bedding are provided. You can bring one dog. There's a local pub and a golf course.
