The Cartlodge is on the edge of Rochford. It's a detached barn conversion. It sleeps ten, in four bedrooms. Crucially, each bedroom has its own bathroom, which with that many people makes a big difference.
It's got a 5 Star rating. It's a high-spec place. The main living area has a vaulted ceiling and big bifold doors that open to the garden. The kitchen is well equipped. There's a separate games barn with table tennis.
The garden is enclosed and private. There's a patio, outdoor seating, a barbecue, and a hot tub. Parking is on site and there's an electric vehicle charger.
You can walk into Rochford town centre in about fifteen minutes. There are shops, a few places to eat, and a train station. Rochford itself is a small market town.
Southend-on-Sea is a short drive away. That's where the pier is, and the amusement arcades. Adventure Island is there if you've got kids. The seafront is a long promenade along the Thames Estuary.
Leigh-on-Sea is also close. It's an old fishing town, good for a wander and some seafood. Two Tree Island is nearby for walking and birdwatching.
For wider days out, the Visit Essex site has ideas. The National Trust in Essex has properties like Audley End House within a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. WiFi is included. You can bring up to two dogs. It's a rural property but not isolated.
