The Spinney Carterton

It's called The Spinney. It's in Carterton, Oxfordshire. The house is detached but it's in our garden, so we're next door. You get the whole garden to yourselves though, it's enclosed.

It sleeps five. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one single. The sofa in the living room pulls out into a double bed. One bathroom, it's a shower room, on the ground floor. There's a separate loo as well. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable.

The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sitting area. The french doors open onto a deck. We've put in some things to do, like a pool table, table tennis, a dartboard and an old Nintendo Wii. It's not a proper games room, it's just stuff in the corner of the living area.

You can bring one dog. The garden is fully enclosed. There's parking right outside.

Carterton is quiet. It's handy for the A40. There's a local pub and shops within walking distance. Brize Norton is here, so you do see and hear planes sometimes.

Burford is about ten minutes drive. It's a nice old Cotswold town. Bampton is close too, they filmed some of Downton Abbey there. Blenheim Palace is maybe twenty five minutes away. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is near Burford, good for kids.

Oxford is about half an hour by car. If you're driving in, use the park and ride, it's easier. For walks, the Cotswolds National Landscape website is useful. For the big historic places like Blenheim, check English Heritage.

Facilities: all the basics are there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them.
