Leofric Lodge
Leofric Lodge is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom place in Bampton. The bedrooms are split over two floors, which is handy. There's a king-sized bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs is a twin room and another bathroom with a freestanding bath.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything is on one level from the front door to the main living area, which is good for access. The kitchen is fine for cooking meals. The living room has patio doors that open onto a private terrace. It looks out over the owner's garden, so it's quiet.
Bampton is a proper village. It's got a shop, a couple of pubs, and a gift shop. Some scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed here. There are three Morris dancing teams in the village. They're quite active in the summer, especially around the Spring Bank Holiday.
You can walk into the village easily. For longer walks, the River Thames is about two and a half miles away. The Chimney Meadow Nature Reserve is just over two miles away if you like birdwatching.
You're well placed for trips. Witney is close for bigger shops. Oxford is about a 40-minute drive, or you can get a bus from near the property to a park and ride. The Cotswolds are nearby too. Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within half an hour by car.
It sleeps four. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site. It's not suitable for pets.
