The Plough is in Bampton village. It's a terrace cottage that used to be a pub. There's a good garden out the back, enclosed.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, which I think means it's comfortable and works well, but it's not got all the latest fittings. It's clean and looked after.
The village centre is about five minutes' walk. There are a few pubs, a shop, a café. They filmed some of the Downton Abbey village scenes here. You'll see the signs about it.
The river Thames is about two and a half miles away if you want to walk by it. For a bigger town, Witney is about six miles. Oxford is eighteen miles. That's a half hour drive, maybe a bit more with traffic. The shopping outlets at Bicester are about forty minutes away.
If you're driving, places like Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds are within half an hour. There's a nature reserve, Chimney Meadows, a couple of miles out.
In the house, there's a woodburning stove, a TV, WiFi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. No pets, sorry.
