Muirston Farmhouse

Muirston Farmhouse is on our farm near Sinclairston. It's a working beef and sheep farm, but the house itself is private and quiet. You get views over the fields to the sea and the Isle of Arran.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen and dining room are a good size if everyone's eating in.

There's a log burning hot tub at the front of the house. You can see the farm from it, but you're not in the middle of the yard.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We can provide a cot and highchair. We accept up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed.

The local shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat are about two to four miles away. Ayr is about the same for a bigger supermarket.

If you're here for golf, the famous Ayrshire courses are a short drive. The seaside towns of Prestwick and Troon are close by too.

It's good for families. The Ayrshire Farm Park is popular. There are beaches, a cinema, and other activities within a half hour drive.

There's a lot of history locally. Culzean Castle is on the cliffs and well worth a visit. Dumfries House is about 30 minutes away. There are ruined castles like Dunure and Turnberry nearby as well.

For a big day out, the Galloway Forest Park is about half an hour's drive. It's huge, with lochs and good walks. It's also a Dark Sky Park. Glasgow is under an hour by train from Ayr or Troon.

You have access to a private fishing loch on the farm. It's also okay for paddle boarding if you bring your own gear.

If you need more space, you can book the farmhouse together with the cottage next door.
