Half Moon Cottage

Half Moon Cottage is in Helperby, which is a small village between York and Thirsk. It's a two bedroom stone cottage right on the village street.

It sleeps three people. There's one double room and one single room, and one bathroom upstairs. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, so mind your head on the way up.

The living room has an open fire. You get one basket of logs included. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Outside there's a small walled patio at the back with a table and chairs. It's south facing so it gets the sun.

You can bring one dog. There's parking for one car directly outside.

The village pub, the Crown and Cushion, is about a two minute walk. They do food. There's a village shop for basics.

York is about a 25 minute drive. You've got the Minster, the walls, the Railway Museum. Thirsk is about 15 minutes the other way. That's James Herriot country. The market's on a Monday.

For walking, you're close to the North York Moors. Sutton Bank and the White Horse are about 20 minutes away. The Yorkshire Dales are also within half an hour's drive.

Useful links if you're planning: North York Moors National Park and York Minster.
