This is Haddocks Nook. It’s my place in Aldwark. It's an old barn I converted, all on one level. Completely detached, just sitting in the middle of fields and woods. You can see deer sometimes, and red kites overhead.
It's got a five star rating. That means it's well looked after. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything's within the one open plan space, so it's easy. It has air conditioning, which is handy.
The garden is enclosed and private. You get a patio area, and there's on site parking. The fishing on the property is free if you fancy it.
You're on your own out here. The nearest pub is a mile up the road. There's a shop about four and a half miles away in Alne. A decent restaurant is two and a half miles.
Thirsk is about twenty minutes’ drive. York is half an hour. You can get to the edge of the North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales in under thirty minutes. Harrogate, Ripon, and the coast at Scarborough or Whitby are all within an hour.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
