Duck Cottage

Duck Cottage is in Tholthorpe. It's detached. You're right next to the village green and the duck pond. There are benches there where you can sit and watch the ducks.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom, all on the ground floor. There's one step down from the living area into the kitchen, and some skylights. It gets a lot of sun.

There's a separate garden room with a sofa, a TV, and a stove for cooler evenings. Outside, there's a private patio with furniture and an enclosed bit of lawn.

The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's well kept. Things like bedding and towels are included. There's parking, a dishwasher, WiFi, and an electric vehicle charger. We accept up to two dogs.

The village pub is just over the green. It serves food and has a beer garden. The nearest shop is about a quarter of a mile away.

You're well placed for getting out. The Howardian Hills are right on the doorstep for walking. York is about twelve miles east. For a bigger day out, both the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are within a half hour drive.

There are a lot of historic houses and ruins nearby if that's your thing. Castle Howard is close, and so are Fountain's Abbey and Rievaulx. For something different, Mother Shipton's Cave in Knaresborough is about half an hour away.
