Rising Sun Holiday Cottage
Rising Sun is on a farm in Aldwark. It's a converted cart-shed. You get views to the front over fields. It's very quiet here.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It has a 5 Star rating, which basically means it's been done to a very high standard. Everything is on one level.
You can fish on site if you want. There are three coarse fishing lakes you can use for free.
The kitchen is open plan with a wood burner. It gets a good amount of light. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's underfloor heating.
The nearest pub and a restaurant are about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is a bit further, about three and a half miles. You'll probably want to drive.
You're well placed for getting out. York is about half an hour's drive. It's a good base for the coast too, like Scarborough or Whitby. The North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are both within reach for a day out.
Places like Castle Howard and Fountains Abbey are easily doable. For racing, there's York, Thirsk, and Ripon.
We take one well-behaved dog. There's parking right outside.
