The Liddel Dutch Barn Saughtree

The Liddel Dutch Barn is in Saughtree, in the Scottish Borders. It's a detached build, designed to look like a converted Dutch barn. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating.

The main living space is open plan. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. Appliances are Smeg. The bathroom has a deep, freestanding cast iron bath. There's also a large infrared sauna in the separate utility room.

It's very quiet here. The building is right next to the River Liddel, so you can hear the water. The surrounding fields are ours, so it's private. The dark skies at night are very good, even better than Kielder.

For walking or cycling, you can go straight from the door. The terrain is hilly. Kielder Water and Forest Park is about six miles away. That's where you'll find watersports, the observatory, and a visitor centre. Visit Kielder has details.

The small village of Newcastleton is a ten minute drive south. It has a couple of shops and places to eat. Hawick is about twenty-five minutes by car for more shops and supermarkets.

Included in the property: bedding, towels, WiFi, a TV, and parking. There's an enclosed garden area with outdoor seating. No pets.
