Kerseycleugh Bridge Cottage is in Kielder. It's about a mile and a half from the village itself. The cottage is old, about two hundred years, but it was all done up properly a few years ago. It's detached, and you've got about two acres of land around it, mostly moorland.
It sleeps four, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner in the main living room, which is nice in the evening. The stairs are a feature oak one. They're fine, but it's an old cottage so mind your head on the beams.
The patio looks out over the river and the view is straight across the border into Scotland. There's no street lights out here, so the stars at night are incredible. There's even a little viewing window upstairs for it.
You'll see a lot of wildlife. Deer, badgers, all sorts of birds. The river has water voles.
The local pub and a restaurant are in Kielder village, about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is further, about six and a half miles, so you need to plan for that.
You're right in the Northumberland National Park. For walking or cycling, it's all right there. Kielder Water is the big attraction for water sports. The Kielder Observatory is up here too, but you have to book ahead. Hadrian's Wall, Corbridge and Hexham are all within about an hour's drive if you want a day out.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and an enclosed garden. The bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible to get in. No pets.
