Kingfisher Pod Radmoor

Kingfisher Pod is one of three places around a lake near Radmoor, near Shawbury. It's a wooden pod, sleeps four in one room. It's got a four star rating, which means it's well set up.

It's glamping, so you're in a pod but it's proper inside. Solid floors, a wood burner, and big doors that open onto your own deck. You get a patio with seating and a BBQ. The pod is set back a bit from the lake, but you've got views of the water from the deck. There are garden bits on three sides.

Because it's on a lake, there are a lot of birds around. Geese, ducks, and the kingfishers it's named after. It's between two streams, so it feels quite private.

The access is via gravel paths. The owners can help you get your bags down with a buggy. Parking is on site.

For shops, Shawbury is about ten minutes away by car. It's got a supermarket, a bakery, a farm shop, and some takeaways. For a bigger day out, Shrewsbury is about twenty minutes. It's a nice old town on the River Severn, with a castle, independent shops, and the usual cafés.

You're right on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Wrekin hill is a popular walk nearby. Within about half an hour you can get to places like Attingham Park, which is National Trust, or the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. Bridgnorth and its steam railway is also in that sort of range.

Bedding and towels are included. They allow up to two pets. The owners do breakfast packs if you ask them in advance. If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book the other pods here too. There's a shared BBQ hut with a pizza oven and things you can use.
