Kingfisher Pod Radmoor

Kingfisher Pod is in Radmoor, a few miles north of Shrewsbury. It's a pine log pod set on the edge of a lake.

It's a glamping setup. It sleeps four, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-finished and comfortable. The pod itself is bright and airy, with big glass doors that open onto a deck. There's a patio with seating and a BBQ.

The pod sits where two streams meet, so it's quiet. You get geese and ducks on the lake. We've had kingfishers, but I can't promise they'll show up for you.

It's detached, with its own garden on three sides. Parking is on site, but the pod is accessed by a gravel path. If you've got a lot of luggage, I can bring it down for you with a buggy.

The kitchen is a small kitchenette. For a proper shop, Shawbury is about ten minutes by car. They've got a co-op, a bakery, and a farm shop.

Shrewsbury is fifteen minutes south. It's a good market town for a day out. The castle is worth a look, and you can walk along the river. For walks, The Wrekin is a twenty minute drive. It's a proper hill with good views.

Within half an hour you can get to Attingham Park, which is National Trust. Ironbridge is about forty minutes, if you're into industrial history. Ludlow is a bit further, maybe forty-five minutes. They've got a good castle and food market.

Facilities: the pod has a woodburning stove, bedding and towels are included, and electricity is covered. You can bring two dogs. We sometimes do breakfast packs if you ask in advance.

There are two other places on the same site, a Geo Dome and a Summerhouse. You can book them together for a bigger group. We've got a big BBQ hut with a pizza oven that all guests can use.
