Geo Dome

The Geo Dome is a glamping spot near Radmoor, just a bit outside Shawbury. It's on the edge of a lake. You can see geese and ducks, and if you're lucky, maybe a kingfisher.

It sleeps four, but in one open-plan room. There's a kingsize bed and a sofa bed. The bathroom is in a separate pod inside, with a shower, loo and basin. It's got a 4 Star rating, which feels about right. It's comfortable and clean.

The whole front is a big picture window looking over the lake. There's also a clear panel in the roof so you can see the sky at night. The floor is covered in coir carpet. There's a wood burning stove, and logs are provided from the owner's own sawmill.

Outside, there's decking with a table, chairs and a BBQ. A few steps down there's a separate patio right by the water with a firepit.

It's not a standard cottage. You park near the entrance and walk down a gravel path to the dome. The owner can bring your bags down on a buggy if you need. The path can be a bit uneven, so bring sensible shoes.

Pets are welcome, up to two dogs.

For shops, Shawbury is about ten minutes' drive. It's got a Co-op, a bakery, and an organic farm shop. Shrewsbury is about twenty minutes away. It's a nice market town with a castle, the river, and plenty of independent shops and cafes.

For walks, the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is close. The Wrekin hill is a popular climb with good views. A bit further, you've got Attingham Park or the Ironbridge Gorge Museum. Ludlow is about forty minutes if you fancy a trip out for its food markets and castle.

Facilities include bedding and towels, parking, and the wood burner. They also offer breakfast packs if you arrange it with the owners beforehand.
