Located in the idyllic village of Llanrhaeadr -ym-Mochnant, The Old School House has been recently renovated and boasts many charming features whilst offering fantastic accommodation. The village has a beautiful back drop of The Berwyn’s where you can access some wonderful walks along with the beautiful Pistyll Rhaeadr which is referred to as one of the seven wonders of Wales and is the highest waterfall in England and Wales.
The Old School House offers a wonderful base for those wanting to explore the area either locally or further afield. There is an open plan living room and dining area with bi-folding doors opening onto a slate terrace with seating, offering a fabulous area for al fresco dining and relaxing. The kitchen has a good selection of fitted cupboards and drawers and is well-equipped for cooking up a fantastic meal. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor. The first floor has a large family bathroom with a separate bath and shower and two heated towel rails. The main bedroom has a double bed with a door opening onto a private balcony, perfect for a morning coffee. The second bedroom could serve as a further double or with two single beds. There is ample parking for several vehicles and walking access to the shops and pubs within the village.
The village has a great community and includes a Spar, a village shop and post office, butchers and two pubs, all within walking distance from The Old School House. The Wynnstay Arms Hotel does a fabulous Sunday carvery. There is also a Fish and Chip shop and an Indian takeaway. Situated approximately 9 miles from the market town of Oswestry and 12 miles from Llangollen the area is popular for visitors particularly those interested in walking, mountain biking or other outdoor pursuits with access to The Berwyns, Snowdonia National Park, Lake Vyrnwy, The Shropshire Hills and some wonderful mountain bike trails and paddle boarding opportunities.
