Corner Cottage is in Homersfield. It's a village on the Suffolk side of the River Waveney. Norfolk starts just over the bridge.
The cottage sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. The main house has two bedrooms upstairs. The third bedroom is in a separate annexe, which is a converted outbuilding. That one has a sofa bed, so it’s good for friends who don’t mind that, or teenagers. It's accessed through the garden or a door from the kitchen.
The stairs inside the main cottage are fairly steep. They’re standard for an old place. The garden is south-facing and fully enclosed, which is good if you have dogs. We allow two. There’s a book in the cottage with the history of the village if you’re interested.
There’s a pub about 150 yards away, past the green. They’re dog-friendly and serve food. A five-minute walk over the bridge gets you to a café that does breakfast and lunch. For more shops and takeaways, Harleston is a five-minute drive.
The coast is about half an hour away by car. Southwold is the main one people go to. You’ve got the beach, the pier, and the Adnams brewery there. If you head towards Norfolk, the Broads are about a 25-minute drive. National Trust Suffolk Coast has details on the beaches and heathland walks.
For something different, the Oasis Camel Park is nearby. Captain Cook canoes, just up the road, hires out paddleboards and kayaks on the river.
Facilities are all there: a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner, parking, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included.
