This delightful cottage is set in the pretty village of Clun and offers a comfortable base to enjoy this stunning county, which is set within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property is just a short stroll from two pubs serving excellent food, and shops offering local produce. Nearby there are excellent circular walks, such as the Stiperstones, Clee Hills and Wenlock Edge, there are also walks direct from the door.
Well worth a visit in the area are the National Trust properties of Croft Castle, Powis Castle and Berrington Hall, and within easy reach there are the popular towns of Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Ironbridge, which all host an array of bars, shops and restaurants.
Just a short drive away is the market town of Knighton, 7 miles, best known for the Offa’s Dyke path, and just 10 miles from Presteigne. There are many attractions nearby including The Judges Lodgings, The Spaceguard Centre and Small Breeds Farm Park, whilst slightly further away is the Elan Valley Reservoirs and the Red Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader. The market towns of Hereford, Ludlow and Hay-on-Wye are all in between 45-60 minutes’ away, and all offer a variety of attractions.
Shropshire is host to some delightful little towns such as Church Stretton and Much Wenlock, both with a good variety of individual shops and pubs. Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Worcester and Mid Wales are all easily accessible.
