St Margarets Cottage is on St Margaret's Lane in King's Lynn. It's in the old town, right by the river and the medieval streets.
It sleeps five, which two proper bedrooms and one bathroom. There's a small double on the first floor, and then the main bedroom is bigger and has a king-sized bed and a sort of mezzanine level above it with a sofa bed. The mattresses are good quality.
The stairs are old and fairly steep. The wall by the stairs is original limewash and you can see where a fire scorched the bricks in the 1700s. They used bits of old gravestone in the wall too, which is an odd thing to see.
Downstairs is open plan. There's a kitchenette. Big glass doors at the back open onto a small walled courtyard. The shower room is on the ground floor.
You've got all the things you'd need: Wi-Fi, TV, underfloor heating, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You're right in the middle of the historic quarter. The big St Margaret's church is directly opposite. There are pubs, restaurants, and shops a few minutes' walk away.
For days out, the coast at places like Old Hunstanton or Holme-next-the-Sea is about half an hour's drive. Sandringham is about fifteen minutes. Castle Acre Priory is a bit further, maybe twenty-five minutes.
