A super family home just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, where you can find plenty of water sports, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and paddle boarding, all equipment is for hire, plenty of coffee shops and eateries including highly recommended oyster restaurants.
Be sure to bring your walking boots, and leave the car behind, Mersea Island is the perfect place for walking, whether it’s just a short stroll around the Old City or a longer walk along the Strood Channel, there are plenty of trails with beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife, and amazing sunsets to enjoy.
Another great way to explore the island is by bicycle. Further afield and well worth a visit is Colchester with its famous castle and zoo, and conveniently located for exploring the Dedham Vale, Stour Valley and marvel the views within Constable country. Beach 400 yards.
