The Milling Shed

The Milling Shed is one of three cottages here at Corkhill, on the edge of Maythorne. It's a converted farm building, so the ceilings are high and the rooms feel spacious. It's open plan downstairs.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom has a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-finished. The property is wheelchair accessible at the entrance.

It's a working farm, so you'll see fields and animals. It's quiet. The patio area gets the sun in the afternoon. You're right on the edge of the countryside here, with footpaths leading off from the lane.

Southwell is about a mile away. You can walk it if you don't mind a bit of a stroll. It's a nice town. There's a good deli, a few cafes, and the Minster is worth a visit. It's a proper cathedral. The owners can point you to the decent pubs, they know them all.

Within half an hour's drive you've got a few options. Sherwood Forest is about twenty minutes away. Clumber Park is similar. Newark is closer, with the castle. Nottingham is about half an hour for shopping or the city stuff. Lincoln is a bit further, maybe forty minutes, but the cathedral quarter is good if you're making a day of it.

Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. All bedding and towels are included. There's on-site parking. We can provide a highchair. Sorry, no pets.

There's an interconnecting door with The Cowshed next door if you need more space for a bigger group. Useful link for local walks and history: Visit Nottinghamshire.
