The Milling Shed is one of three barns here, called Corkhill Cottages. It’s near Southwell in Nottinghamshire. The setting is quiet, just fields really. You can see the town from the garden.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that’s handy. It’s a 4 Star place, which basically means it’s been done up to a good standard. Everything's clean and works properly. There's an interconnecting door to the barn next door, The Cowshed, if you're booking with a bigger group.
You can walk into Southwell. It’s about a mile and a half, maybe a bit less. There are proper footpaths. The town has a few shops, a couple of bakeries, and some cafes. The Minster is the big thing to see there. It's a cathedral, really impressive architecture. Worth a look.
A few decent pubs are nearby. The one in Maythorne village is walkable if you don’t mind a stroll. We can point you to the ones that do good food.
If you drive, you’ve got Sherwood Forest about 25 minutes away. Clumber Park is similar, maybe half an hour. Southwell Racecourse is just on the other side of town. Nottingham and Newark are both about a 20-minute drive. Newark has the castle ruins. Lincoln is further, maybe 50 minutes.
Facilities here: you’ve got a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. The garden is yours to use. There’s parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. It's a single-storey layout inside, so it's fairly accessible, no steps between rooms. No pets, I'm afraid.
