The Piggery is one of three cottages here at Corkhill, converted from old farm buildings. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The conversion is modern inside and everything is on one level, so there are no stairs at all. The main door has a step, but there's a level, wheelchair-accessible entrance at the back.
It's warm and open plan. There's a wood burner for winter evenings. You get your own patio area with a table and chairs, which looks out over the fields.
We're on a working farm, so you'll see and hear the animals. There are sheep in the next field and chickens wandering about. The WiFi is decent but not super fast, which is fairly normal for here.
It's very quiet. You're a mile or so outside Southwell. You can walk into town in about 25 minutes, or it's a two-minute drive. Southwell has good independent shops, a couple of bakeries, and a nice deli. The Minster is worth a look; it's a proper cathedral. Southwell Minster.
For a day out, Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak are about 20 minutes away. The National Trust's Clumber Park is roughly half an hour. Newark-on-Trent is 15 minutes by car, and Nottingham is about 25.
Facilities: There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a highchair. Sorry, no pets.
