The Cowshed
The Cowshed is on our family farm in Maythorne, just outside Southwell. It used to be, well, a cowshed. It's been done up nicely. It's one of three barns here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. That's handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
It's very quiet here. The main view is across the fields towards Southwell. You've got your own patio area. The barns are arranged around the old farmyard, so you might see us or other guests coming and going.
Southwell is about a mile away. You can walk it on the footpaths if you don't mind a bit of mud after rain. The Minster is worth a look. There's a decent deli, a couple of bakeries, and a few pubs. The pubs in town are good. The Bramley Apple does proper food.
If you want to go further, Newark is about twenty minutes by car. Nottingham is about half an hour. Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak are about a twenty-five minute drive. Clumber Park is good for a walk, that's about thirty minutes away too. The racecourse is just outside Southwell.
Inside, it's all open plan. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights. It's got a dishwasher, wifi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a highchair. No pets, I'm afraid. It's a working farm.
