The Foundry is one of four barn conversions on the old estate here, near Whitchurch. It's a two-bedroom place, sleeps four. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own shower room, which is handy.
The barns are in a field, so it feels rural, but you can walk into Whitchurch town centre in about ten minutes. There's a good few pubs and restaurants there, including one in the Michelin Guide. The train station is also a short walk away.
The barn itself is warm and modern inside. There's a wood burner for colder nights. Outside, there's a private garden with a patio, furniture, and a hot tub. Parking is right outside.
For getting out and about, you're right on the edge of the Shropshire Union Canal and the Cheshire Cycleway if you like walking or cycling. Ellesmere and its lakes are about 20 minutes by car. Chester is under an hour's drive, for the shopping and the zoo. Shrewsbury is about half an hour in the other direction.
There are a few big National Trust places within a 30 minute drive, like Attingham Park or Chirk Castle. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are also within that range.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
