The Hayloft
The Hayloft is a converted barn just outside Whitchurch. It's one of a group of barns, so there are other cottages nearby, but you've got your own garden and it's enclosed. The garden has a hot tub.
It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high standard. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's warm and comfortable, with a wood burner in the living area. We allow one dog.
You're only about a ten minute walk from Whitchurch station, so you don't have to drive everywhere. The town centre is walkable too. There are a few pubs and shops. One of the restaurants has a Michelin mention.
For walks, the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal is right there. The Cheshire Cycleway runs past if you're bringing bikes.
If you drive, Shrewsbury is about half an hour. Chester is roughly 45 minutes for shopping and the races. Chester Zoo is popular, that's about 30 minutes away. There are a few National Trust places within easy reach, like Erddig and Attingham Park.
The facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ for the garden.
