Dairymaids Cottage is in Middleton on the Gower. It's a fairly new build, done in a cottage style, in a small row of similar houses. You get a decent sized private patio at the back.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. Two bedrooms are downstairs, two are up, so it works well if you've got grandparents or someone who struggles with stairs. There are two bathrooms, one on each floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and modern.
The main living space is open plan, with a high ceiling and a mezzanine lounge area upstairs. There's a log burner for colder nights. The patio doors open straight from the lounge onto the terrace.
The kitchen has a big range cooker. There's a utility room at the back, which is handy for washing sandy dogs or storing walking gear.
Outside, there's a shared play area behind the houses with swings and a slide. The patio is sunny and enclosed. You can bring two dogs.
Location is the main thing here. Walk out the front door, cross the road, and you're straight onto the All Wales Coastal Path. It's about a fifteen minute walk along the path to Rhossili Bay. The views are fantastic. There’s a cafe there that does good breakfasts.
You can see Worms Head from the cottage. At low tide on Rhossili beach, you can often see the ribs of the Helvetia shipwreck sticking out of the sand.
For other beaches, Three Cliffs Bay is about a 20 minute drive. It’s very pretty. Oxwich Bay is similar. The whole Gower peninsula is good for walking. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coast.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
