Sunniside House is in the middle of Allendale Town. It's a stone cottage, double fronted.
It sleeps six, with three double bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own shower room, which is handy.
The place is warm, but it's old. There are low beams, stone walls, wooden floors. You'll need to watch your head in places. A couple of steps lead up to the kitchen from the living room.
There are two separate rooms with stoves. The main living and dining room has a wood burner. There's also a smaller snug with another stove, if people want to sit separately.
You get a fully enclosed garden. There's a washing machine. WiFi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
Allendale is a good base for walking. You're on the edge of the North Pennines. The local pub is a few minutes' walk away.
Hexham is about a 25-minute drive. You've got the Abbey and the racecourse there. For a big day out, you can get to Hadrian's Wall in under half an hour. Kielder Forest and the Water Park is about 40 minutes by car.
