Black Bank House

Black Bank House is a detached farmhouse in Sinderhope. It sleeps ten. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The house was built in 1820. It's got wooden beams and a wood burner. The kitchen is a proper farmhouse kitchen, which just means it's big. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.

You've got a good sized garden. The patio has a table and chairs. The garden leads down to a hay meadow and then the East Allen River. The river is shallow enough for paddling. The view from the terrace is over the meadows to the river.

Be aware there is an unprotected drop in the garden. Not a cliff, but a step down. Children need watching there.

There's parking on the drive. We've had an electric vehicle charger installed.

Allendale Town is about three miles away. It's got a couple of pubs that do food, a cafe, and a Co-op for basics. Hexham is a 20 minute drive. That's where you'll find the big supermarket, more shops, and the abbey.

For walking, Isaac's Tea Trail passes nearby. The Coast-to-Coast cycle route is close. It's part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you drive half an hour, you can get to Hadrian's Wall. Kielder Water is about 40 minutes away.

The house has a 4 Star rating. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
