Castlegate is a two bedroom flat on the first floor. The front door is on the street, you go straight up a flight of stairs to get in. It sleeps four.
The place is clean and modern inside. You've got one proper double bed in the main bedroom. The second room has a day bed that pulls out into another double, so it can be set up as twins if you like. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Everything you'd need is there, like a washing machine and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
It's on a quiet street but you're right in the middle of Lanark. A couple of decent pubs are about a minute's walk away. The town has all the usual shops and some good places to eat.
The train station is a short walk through the town. You can get a direct train to Glasgow, it takes about 45 minutes. Edinburgh is about an hour and a quarter by train with one change.
The big thing here is the New Lanark Visitor Centre. It's a World Heritage Site and it's brilliant, especially if you're interested in history. It's a 15 minute walk down the hill from the flat.
If you drive, you're well placed. The Clyde Valley is right on the doorstep for walks. Bigger towns like Hamilton are about 20 minutes away. There's fishing and horse riding nearby if that's your thing. Several golf courses are within a short drive.
