Harperfield Chalet

Harperfield Chalet is in Douglas Water, Lanarkshire. It's on a family estate, detached and down by the river. The view from the verandah is over the water and fields.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One bathroom. It's a 4 Star, so it's well-finished and comfortable. You get the whole place and garden to yourselves.

The main thing is the river access. There's a private dock. You can fish from it, or go in for a swim if you're feeling brave. You can bring your own paddleboard. There's a hot tub outside, and a covered gazebo with a projector screen for movies. There's also a fire pit. The garden is big.

Inside, it's got a wood burner. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. They've got a cot and highchair if you need them. There's parking.

The nearest proper town is Lanark, about five miles away. It's got shops and a few places to eat. There's a bus stop at the property gate if you don't want to drive. For a day out, the New Lanark World Heritage Site is nearby. The Falls of Clyde are good for a walk. There's also golf and horse riding close by.

It's quite a good spot for getting around. Glasgow is about half an hour away by train. Edinburgh is about 40 minutes. The M74 is close if you're driving into the Borders or down towards Dumfries.
